Keith Eugene Booth (born October 9, 1974) is an American basketball coach and former player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Booth also played college basketball for the University of Maryland. He later became an assistant coach for both the University of Maryland and Loyola University Maryland.

Early Life and High School Success
Keith Booth grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He went to Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. While playing basketball there in 1992, his team won the national high school championship. This was a huge achievement for his team.
College Basketball Career
Joining the Maryland Terrapins
After high school, Keith Booth was a top player. Many college coaches wanted him to join their teams. Coach Gary Williams from the University of Maryland was very keen. Keith became the first player from Baltimore City in many years to play for Maryland.
Before Keith, many talented high school players from Baltimore avoided Maryland. This was due to some past issues with the college's basketball program. By choosing Maryland, Keith helped change this. He opened the door for other great players from Baltimore to consider Maryland again.
Booth's Impact at Maryland
Keith played for the Maryland Terrapins from 1993 to 1997. He was a very important player for the team. He led the team in free throws, making 576 of them. He also scored a total of 1,776 points during his college career. These numbers show how skilled he was on the court.
Playing in the NBA
Drafted by the Chicago Bulls
In 1997, Keith Booth was chosen in the NBA Draft. The Chicago Bulls picked him as their first choice. He was the 28th player picked overall in the draft. He then played two seasons with the Bulls.
Life After Playing Basketball
Earning a College Degree
After his time in the NBA, Keith Booth went back to college. He returned to the University of Maryland. In 2003, he earned his bachelor's degree. He studied criminology and criminal justice.
Coaching Career Begins
After getting his degree, Keith started working. He coached middle school baseball at the Park School of Baltimore. He also volunteered at an after-school program. This program was at his old high school, Dunbar.
In 2004, he went back to the University of Maryland. He became an assistant coach under his former coach, Gary Williams. He helped with recruiting new players. He also helped run the Gary Williams Summer Basketball Camp. This camp took place every summer.
When Coach Williams retired in 2011, Keith left Maryland. The new head coach, Mark Turgeon, decided to bring in his own staff.
Coaching at Loyola University Maryland
In October 2011, Keith Booth became an assistant coach. He joined the women's basketball team at Loyola University Maryland. He worked with them for a couple of years.
Then, in April 2013, he moved to the men's basketball team. He continued as an assistant coach there. He stayed with Loyola University Maryland until 2018.
Coaching at His High School
In May 2019, Keith Booth became the head coach. He took over the basketball team at his old high school, Dunbar. He coached his alma mater's team until February 2021.
