Keith Orlando Herron (born June 14, 1956) is an American former basketball player. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Keith Herron played as a forward, known for his scoring ability. He had a successful college career before playing for several teams in the NBA.

Keith Herron grew up in Washington, D.C., where he played high school basketball. He was a tall player, standing 6 feet 7 inches (2.01 meters) tall. His talent led him to play college basketball at Villanova University.
College Star at Villanova
At Villanova University, Keith Herron became a true basketball star. He was an amazing scorer for the team. For 19 years, he held the record as Villanova's all-time leading scorer. This record was later broken by another great player, Kerry Kittles.
During his time in college, Herron received many honors. He was named to Basketball Weekly's All-East team. He also made The Sporting News All-America team. He was part of the All-NIT team. Plus, he was chosen twice for the All-Big Five team. Keith's brothers, Larry and Reggie, also played basketball for the Villanova Wildcats.
Playing in the NBA
After his impressive college career, Keith Herron was ready for the professional league. He was chosen by the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round of the 1978 NBA draft. This meant he was drafted as the 24th overall pick.
Herron went on to play for a few different teams in the NBA. He played for the Atlanta Hawks during the 1978–79 season. Later, he joined the Detroit Pistons for the 1980–81 season. His final NBA team was the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he played in 1981–82.
