Keith Duncan Mallett (born October 7, 1948) is an American artist. He is known for his work as a painter, etcher, and ceramic artist. His art includes many different styles, from pictures of people to still life and abstract designs.

Mallett's artwork has been shown all over the world. Many companies and private collectors own his pieces. He has also created many popular limited-edition prints that sold out quickly. One special project was creating the official print for the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson joining major league baseball.

Early Life and Art

Keith Mallett was born in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania. His father, Boyd Mallett, was an engineer and electrician. He passed away when Keith was six years old. Keith's mother, Dorothy Williams, raised him and his three siblings alone.

When Keith was twelve, he started painting as a hobby. This early interest in art grew into his lifelong passion.

Keith Mallett's Career

Keith studied painting at the Art Students League of New York and Hunter College in New York City. His teachers saw his talent and encouraged him to become a professional artist. He even worked for some of his professors.

While in New York, Mallett started working for the music industry. He painted record covers for Virgin Records. He also designed T-shirts for famous music groups.

In 1980, he moved to Los Angeles to continue his art career. There, he worked for Jam Power Records. He also began showing his art in many galleries. Soon after, he moved to San Diego to work with Front Line Graphics. He then decided to focus on creating fine art, especially African American art.

After his artwork "Generations" became famous worldwide, Mallett started his own company. It is called Keith Mallett Studio Inc.

Keith Mallett's art has appeared in many movies and television shows. These include Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite, Soul Food, and Ben Affleck's Gone Baby Gone. His art was also seen in the Disney Channel show The Famous Jett Jackson.

His artwork has also been featured in books. You can find it in Charlotte Watson Sherman's Sister Fire and Jonah Winter's How Jelly Roll Morton Invented Jazz. Keith Mallett lives in San Diego with his wife, Dianne. They have a son named Christopher. Christopher is a talented classical guitarist who studies at Yale University.
