Growing Up: Keith's Early Life

Keith Mallett was born in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania. His father, Boyd Mallett, was an engineer and electrician. He passed away when Keith was only six years old. Keith's mother, Dorothy Williams, raised him and his three siblings alone. Keith started painting as a fun hobby when he was twelve.

Keith's Artistic Journey

Keith studied painting at the Art Students League of New York and Hunter College in New York City. His professors encouraged him to become a professional artist. He even worked for some of his teachers.

While in New York, Mallett started working for the music industry. He painted record covers for Virgin Records. He also designed T-shirts for several famous music groups.

In 1980, he moved to Los Angeles to continue his art career. There, he worked for Jam Power Records. He also began showing his art in many galleries. Soon after, he moved to San Diego. He started focusing on creating fine art and African-American art.

His artwork "Generations" became very popular worldwide. Because of this success, Mallett started his own company, Keith Mallett Studio Inc.
