Kelly Jeromy Willie (born September 7, 1982) is a former American track and field athlete. He was a very fast runner. He was best known for competing in the 400-meter dash. This is a running race that is 400 meters long.
Early Life and School
Kelly Willie was born on September 7, 1982. He grew up in Houston, Texas. He went to Sterling High School. While there, he started competing in track.
College and Olympic Success
After high school, Kelly went to Louisiana State University. He ran for the LSU Tigers team. He became a three-time NCAA champion in relay races. In 2004, he was the runner-up in the 400-meter race.
He joined the American 4×400-meter relay team. This team ran in the 2004 Olympics. They won a gold medal there. This was a huge achievement for him.
Facing Tough Competition
