Kenichi Kaga (加賀 健一, Kaga Kenichi, born 30 September 1983) is a Japanese footballer. He was born on September 30, 1983. He plays as a defender for J2 League club Blaublitz Akita. His main job on the field is to help stop the other team from scoring goals.

Kenichi Kaga's Football Journey

Kenichi Kaga was born in Futada, Tennō, Akita, Japan. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 2002. He joined a top-tier club called Júbilo Iwata in the J1 League. At first, it was tough for him to get playing time because there were many experienced defenders ahead of him.

Playing for Different Clubs

  • Consadole Sapporo (2005-2006): In 2005, Kenichi Kaga was loaned to Consadole Sapporo, a club in the J2 League (the second division). Here, he became a regular player, meaning he played in most of the team's matches for two seasons.
  • Return to Júbilo Iwata (2007-2011): He went back to Júbilo Iwata in 2007. He became a regular defender for them. Even though he played less in 2009, he managed to become a key player again in 2011.
  • FC Tokyo (2012-2014): In 2012, Kenichi Kaga moved to FC Tokyo. He played in many games as a center back, even if he wasn't always in the starting lineup.
  • Urawa Reds (2015-2016): He then joined Urawa Reds in 2015. However, he didn't get to play as much during his time there.
  • Montedio Yamagata (2017-2019): In 2017, he moved to Montedio Yamagata, another club in the J2 League.
