Kenji Fukuda (福田 健二, Fukuda Kenji, born October 21, 1977) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward, which means he was usually at the front of the team, trying to score goals. He was known for being left-footed.

Kenji Fukuda's Club Journey
Starting in Japan
Kenji Fukuda began his professional football career in 1996. After finishing high school, he joined a team called Nagoya Grampus Eight in Japan's top league, the J1 League. He quickly became an important player for the team by 1998.
During his time with Nagoya Grampus Eight, Kenji helped his team win the Sanwa Bank Cup in 1997. They also won the 1999 Emperor's Cup, which is a big football tournament in Japan. His team also finished second in the 1996–97 Asian Cup Winners' Cup.
Playing Around the World
After 2000, Kenji had fewer chances to play for Nagoya Grampus Eight. He then moved to other Japanese teams like FC Tokyo in 2001 and Vegalta Sendai in 2003. But his journey didn't stop there!
In 2004, Kenji moved to Paraguay in South America to play for Guaraní. He scored his first goal for them in February. From 2005 onwards, he played for many different clubs in various countries. He played for Pachuca Juniors and Irapuato in Mexico.
He also played in Spain for teams like Castellón, Numancia, and Las Palmas. In August 2008, he moved to Greece to play for Ionikos FC.
Returning Home and Retirement
In September 2009, Kenji Fukuda came back to Japan. He signed with his hometown club, Ehime FC. He became a captain for the team in 2010 and played many games. He stayed with Ehime FC until the end of the 2012 season.
Finally, in 2013, Kenji moved to Hong Kong. He joined a team called Yokohama FC Hong Kong, which later changed its name to Metro Gallery. He played for this club until June 2016, when he decided to retire from professional football.
Representing Japan: National Team Career
Kenji Fukuda also had the honor of playing for his country. He was part of the Japan U-20 national team. This team is made up of players who are under 20 years old.
He played in the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship, which was held in Malaysia. During this tournament, he scored a goal against the Costa Rica team in the group stage. His team made it to the quarter-finals of the championship.
