Kenneth La'ron Beasley (born August 5, 1997), known as KennyHoopla, is an American singer and songwriter. He is famous for his songs "How Will I Rest in Peace if I’m Buried by a Highway?" and "Estella." His first official music collection, an EP called How Will I Rest in Peace if I'm Buried by a Highway?, came out on May 15, 2020.

Early Life

Kenneth La'ron Beasley was born in Cleveland, Ohio. When he was a child, he moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He spent a lot of his childhood living between these two cities.

When asked about his first memory of music, KennyHoopla remembered something funny. He said he recorded a "horrible" freestyle rap. He did this on a cassette player toy his mom gave him when he was about 10 years old.

Music Journey

Starting Out: 2016–2019

KennyHoopla started sharing his songs online in 2016. He posted them on his SoundCloud page. On October 5, 2016, he released an EP (a mini-album) called Beneath the Willow Tree. This EP included songs he had posted earlier and some new ones. Many music blogs liked the EP and thought he was an artist to watch.

Later that month, he uploaded a song called "Cave." This song became his most listened-to track on SoundCloud at the time. In August 2017, he released his first official single, "Waves," with a music video. He followed this with "Sickness" in 2018.

In 2019, KennyHoopla released "Lost Cause" on February 1. This song became very popular and helped him reach more listeners. Its music video came out a few days later. He then released "Sore Loser" in September, which also got good reviews.

Big Hits and New Music: 2020–Present

On February 4, 2020, KennyHoopla released the song "How Will I Rest in Peace if I'm Buried by a Highway?". This song quickly became his biggest hit. It was his first song to get over a million views on YouTube. People loved its unique sound, which mixed post-punk and new wave styles. The song was played on alternative radio stations and reached number 8 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart.

He released another single, "The World is Flat and This is the Edge," on March 12, 2020. On May 13, 2020, he released "Plastic Door." He also announced that his EP, How Will I Rest in Peace if I'm Buried by a Highway?, would be out soon. The EP was released on May 15, 2020. Critics praised the EP for mixing different sounds like indie rock, hip hop, pop punk, and drum and bass.

Later in 2020, he released new versions of his song "Lost Cause." One version featured the musician Grandson. Another version featured Jesse Rutherford from the band The Neighbourhood.

In October 2020, KennyHoopla shared that he was working on his first full album. He also posted a picture of himself in the studio with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. On November 20, he released the song "Estella," which featured Travis Barker playing drums. The music video for "Estella" came out a few days later.

On May 7, 2021, he released "Hollywood Sucks," also featuring Travis Barker. He also announced his mixtape, Survivors Guilt: The Mixtape, which was released on June 11, 2021.

KennyHoopla has also toured with other popular artists. In 2021, he supported Yungblud in London and Machine Gun Kelly on his U.S. tour. In 2023 and 2024, he joined Blink-182 on their World Tour.
