Kenny Lucas and Keith Lucas (born September 13, 1985) are identical twin brothers known as The Lucas Brothers. They are American writers, filmmakers, producers, actors, and comedians who work together on many projects.
They helped write and produce the movie Judas and the Black Messiah (2021). For this film, they were nominated for a top award called the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. They also won the Paul Selvin Award and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a Motion Picture. The movie itself was nominated for six Academy Awards, including the award for Best Picture.

Early Lives and Education
The Lucas Brothers grew up in Newark, New Jersey. They also lived for a while in High Point, North Carolina. Later, they moved to Irvington, New Jersey and both finished high school at Irvington High School.
After high school, both brothers graduated with honors from the College of New Jersey in 2007. They both earned degrees in philosophy. Kenny went on to New York University School of Law, and Keith attended Duke University School of Law. However, they decided to leave law school in their third year to focus on their dream of becoming stand-up comedians.
In 2022, The College of New Jersey welcomed the Lucas Brothers into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society as alumni members.
Comedy and Film Career
The Lucas Brothers first appeared on a major TV show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, in 2012. They have been guests on the show many times since then. The twins also created their own animated TV series called Lucas Bros. Moving Co.. They starred in the truTV series Friends of the People.
In 2014, they appeared in the movie 22 Jump Street. That same year, Variety magazine named them among their "Ten Comics to Watch." The brothers also played roles in the Fox TV series The Grinder in 2016. They even played themselves in the Netflix series Lady Dynamite.
In April 2017, the Lucas Brothers released their first comedy special on Netflix. It was highly praised, with Paste magazine ranking it as one of the best comedy specials of 2017.
They have also created content for Fox and its YouTube channel, Animation Domination High-Def. This includes a short web-series called OG Sherlock Kush.
Writing and Producing Judas and the Black Messiah
More recently, the Lucas Brothers co-wrote and co-produced the movie Judas and the Black Messiah (2021). This film tells the story of Fred Hampton. They worked on the script with Will Berson, and Shaka King directed the movie.
For their work on Judas and the Black Messiah, the Lucas Brothers were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. They also received a nomination for the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Original Screenplay. They won the Paul Selvin Award and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a Motion Picture.
The brothers are also working on a new comedy project with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who directed 22 Jump Street. They are also planning to write and star in a movie about their own lives, which will be produced by Judd Apatow. They often perform stand-up comedy at the Comedy Cellar.
