Exploring the Landscape of Kepler Lake
Kepler Lake is smaller compared to some of the other big lakes in Louisiana. If you stand at the main boat launch, which is near the spillway, you can often see all the way across the lake. You might even spot the white-concrete Piney Woods road bridge on the other side.
To help boaters navigate safely, special channels have been dug into the lake. These channels help boats avoid hitting tree stumps that are hidden underwater. In recent years, the lake has even been partly drained at times. This was done specifically to remove many of these stumps, making boating even safer and more enjoyable.
