About Kerstin Jeppsson
Kerstin Jeppsson was born in Nyköping, Sweden. She loved music and decided to study it seriously. She went to the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. There, she learned how to compose music from a teacher named Maurice Karkoff.
After her studies in Stockholm, Kerstin received a special scholarship. This allowed her to continue learning at the Kraków Conservatory. In Kraków, she studied composition with famous composers like Krzysztof Meyer and Krzysztof Penderecki. She also learned how to conduct music from Jozef Radwan.
Kerstin continued her education in the United States. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Stockholm in 1977. Then, she got a Master of Fine Arts degree from the California Institute of the Arts in Santa Clarita in 1979. There, she studied composition with Mel Powell and conducting with Daniel Schulman.
