Kevin Durell Edwards (born October 30, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player. He played in the NBA for 11 seasons. After his playing career, he became involved in community and professional relations for the DePaul University men's basketball team.

Kevin Edwards' Early Life and College Career
Kevin Edwards was born in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He attended St. Joseph High School in Cleveland. After high school, he played college basketball. He first played at Lakeland Community College from 1984 to 1986. Later, he transferred to DePaul University, where he played from 1986 to 1988.
Becoming an NBA Player
In 1988, Kevin Edwards was chosen in the 1988 NBA draft. The Miami Heat picked him as the 20th overall player. This was a big moment for the Heat, as he was only their second player ever drafted. His teammate, Rony Seikaly, was picked earlier in the same draft.
Playing for the Miami Heat
Edwards started his NBA career with the Miami Heat. He played for them from 1988 to 1992. As a shooting guard, he helped the team in its early years. In his first season, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. This showed he was one of the best new players in the league.
Moving to Other Teams
After playing for the Heat, Edwards joined the New Jersey Nets. He played for the Nets from 1993 to 1997. His best season was the 1993–94 NBA season. During this year, he played in all 82 games. He also scored his highest average points per game, with 14.0 points. He scored the most points in his career while playing for the Nets.
He later played briefly for the Orlando Magic in 1997. His final NBA team was the Vancouver Grizzlies in 2000.
