Growing Up and High School Football
Kevin Harris grew up in Hinesville, Georgia. He went to Bradwell Institute for high school. He was a very talented football player there. In his junior year, he ran for an amazing 1,680 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. This earned him the Georgia Region 2-6A Player of the Year award.
As a senior, he continued to impress. He rushed for 1,556 yards and scored 22 touchdowns. For the second year in a row, he was named the Region 2-6A Player of the Year. After high school, Kevin decided to play college football at South Carolina. He chose South Carolina over many other colleges that wanted him to play for them.
College Career at South Carolina
Kevin Harris started his college career strong as a freshman. He ran the ball 21 times for 179 yards and scored four touchdowns. This showed everyone his potential.
In his second year, he became the starting running back for the Gamecocks. He had an incredible game against Ole Miss, where he rushed for 243 yards. This was the fifth-highest rushing total in the school's history! In that same game, he scored five touchdowns. By the end of the season, he had rushed for 1,138 yards and 15 touchdowns on 185 carries. He also caught 21 passes for 159 yards and one touchdown.

Joining the New England Patriots
Kevin Harris was chosen by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft. He was the 183rd player picked overall. Even though he was drafted, he was waived (released) by the team on August 30, 2022. However, he was quickly re-signed to their practice squad the very next day. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster.
On October 13, 2022, Kevin was moved from the practice squad to the active roster, meaning he could now play in games. In Week 14, during a game against the Arizona Cardinals, he scored his first professional touchdown. It was a 14-yard run that helped the Patriots win 27–13. As a rookie, he played in five games. He finished his first season with 18 carries for 52 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
Recent Seasons
On August 29, 2023, Kevin was again waived by the Patriots. But once more, he was re-signed to their practice squad. He was later promoted back to the active roster on December 19, 2023.
Most recently, on August 27, 2024, Kevin Harris was waived by the Patriots again. He was then re-signed to their practice squad.
