Kevin Jamaal Koger (born December 12, 1989) is an American football coach. He used to play as a tight end in college. Today, he is the tight ends coach for the Atlanta Falcons, an NFL team. In 2011, he was recognized as an All-Big Ten honorable mention player. Koger started his coaching career in 2012 in Saline, Michigan. In 2015, he joined the coaching staff at the University of Tennessee.
High School Star
Koger played high school football at Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio. He set a school record for receiving yards. He caught 75 passes for 1,190 yards in his career. He also scored 16 touchdowns.
On defense, Koger was a strong player too. He made 151 tackles and had 16 sacks. He also caused and recovered fumbles. In his senior year, he caught 31 passes for 361 yards. He scored five touchdowns and had 48 tackles.

- ESPN.com ranked him as the 107th-best defensive end.
- As a senior, he earned All-Ohio first team honors as a defensive end.
- As a junior, he received all-city honors. This was for both tight end and defensive end.
College Days
Koger earned a scholarship to play football at the University of Michigan. He studied kinesiology there. He caught his first pass in a game on September 27, 2008. It was a 26-yard catch for a touchdown against Wisconsin. He became the starting tight end in the fifth week of that season.
In 2010, as a junior, Koger was on the watch list for the John Mackey Award. This award goes to the best tight end in college football.
As a senior in 2011, Koger caught 21 passes for 235 yards. He scored four touchdowns that year. His best game was against Ohio State. He had four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. After the 2011 season, he was named an All-Big Ten Conference honorable mention.
In March 2012, Koger suffered a serious leg injury. He tore his achilles tendon while training. He had surgery to fix it. This type of injury needs a long time to heal. Koger was not chosen by any team in the 2012 NFL draft.
Coaching Journey
After his playing career, Koger started coaching. He coached at Saline High School in Michigan. Then, he joined the University of Michigan staff as a graduate assistant. In February 2015, he moved to the University of Tennessee. There, he also worked as a graduate assistant.
On February 15, 2019, Koger was hired by the Green Bay Packers. He worked as an offensive quality control coach. This role helps coaches review game film and plan plays.
On February 11, 2021, Koger became the tight ends coach for the Los Angeles Chargers. He held this position for three seasons. On February 1, 2024, he was hired by the Atlanta Falcons for the same role.
