Kevin Jamaal Koger (born December 12, 1989) is an American football coach. He used to play as a tight end in college. A tight end is a player who can block for runs and also catch passes. Kevin Koger is currently the tight ends coach for the Atlanta Falcons, an NFL team. In 2011, he was recognized as a top player in the Big Ten Conference. After his playing career, Koger started coaching in 2012.

High School Football Career
Kevin Koger played high school football at Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio. He was a very strong player on both offense and defense.
- Offensive Records: He holds the school record for most receiving yards with 1,190 yards. He caught 75 passes and scored 16 touchdowns during his high school career.
- Defensive Records: On defense, he made 151 tackles. Tackles are when you stop an opponent with the ball. He also had 16 sacks, which means he tackled the opposing quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. He forced and recovered fumbles, and even caught two interceptions. One of his interceptions was returned for a touchdown!
- Senior Year Highlights: In his final year, he caught 31 passes for 361 yards and scored five touchdowns. He also made 48 tackles and had seven sacks.

Kevin Koger received many honors for his excellent play:
- He was named an All-American by PrepStar Magazine.
- Rivals.com called him a four-star prospect. They said he was the fourth-best tight end in the country and the tenth-best player in Ohio.
- Scout.com also rated him as a four-star prospect and the sixth-best tight end nationally.
- The Detroit Free Press listed him as one of the top players in the Midwest.
- ESPN.com ranked him as one of the best defensive ends.
- He earned first-team All-Ohio honors as a defensive end in his senior year.
- As a junior, he received all-city honors for both tight end and defensive end.
College Football Journey
Kevin Koger earned a scholarship to play football at the University of Michigan. He studied kinesiology, which is the study of how the body moves.
- First Touchdown: On September 27, 2008, he caught his first pass against Wisconsin. It was a 26-yard play that ended in a touchdown!
- Becoming a Starter: He became the starting tight end in the fifth week of the 2008 season.
- Junior Year: In 2010, as a junior, Koger was on the watchlist for the John Mackey Award. This award goes to the best tight end in college football.
- Senior Year Success: In 2011, his senior year, Koger caught 21 passes for 235 yards and scored four touchdowns. His best game was against Ohio State, where he had four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. After this season, he was recognized as an All-Big Ten Conference honorable mention.
- Injury and NFL Draft: Before the 2012 NFL Draft, Kevin Koger had a serious injury. This injury prevented him from being drafted by an NFL team.
Coaching Career
After his playing days, Kevin Koger began his coaching career.
- Early Coaching: He first coached at Saline High School in Michigan.
- College Coaching: He then joined the University of Michigan staff as a graduate assistant. In 2015, he moved to the University of Tennessee, also as a graduate assistant.
