Early Life and High School
Kevin Lewis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 14, 1966. He grew up playing high school football at Alcée Fortier High School. He played alongside other future NFL players like Maurice Hurst and Aeneas Williams. Kevin was a great student and athlete. He earned honors in both football and basketball. He was also the valedictorian of his graduating class. This means he was the top student!
College Football Journey
After high school, Kevin was smaller than many football players. He was only 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed 146 pounds. But he was determined to play college football. He convinced the coaches at Northwestern State University to let him try out. He joined the team as a walk-on cornerback. This means he wasn't given a scholarship right away. He played for the Northwestern State Demons from 1985 to 1988.
Kevin's hard work paid off. In 2007, he was honored for his college career. He was inducted into the N-Club Hall of Fame. He was also chosen for the "Top 100 Demons of the Century" roster.
