Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (Arabic: خَالِد بن مُحَمَّد بن زَايد آل نَهيَان, romanized: Khālid bin Muḥammad bin Zāyid Āl Nahyān), born on January 8, 1982, is an important leader in Abu Dhabi. He is the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, a role he took on March 29, 2023. He is the oldest son of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the President of the United Arab Emirates.

Early Life and Education
Sheikh Khaled is the oldest son of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He is part of the Al Nahyan family, which rules Abu Dhabi. His mother is Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan.
He has a younger brother named Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Theyab is in charge of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court. He also leads Etihad Rail, a big railway project.
Sheikh Khaled studied at Arizona State University and earned a degree in Political Science in 2004. Later, in 2007, he received a master's degree from Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service.
His Career in Government
Important Roles in Security
Sheikh Khaled has held several key positions in national security. On February 15, 2016, he became the head of national security. About a year later, on January 16, 2017, he was named the deputy national security adviser.
Becoming Crown Prince
On March 29, 2023, Sheikh Khaled was appointed as the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. This means he is next in line to lead Abu Dhabi. At the same time, he also became the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. This council helps manage the government of Abu Dhabi. Before this, he was already a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. He also led the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.
Other Leadership Positions
Sheikh Khaled is a member of the Supreme Council for Financial and Economic Affairs in Abu Dhabi. This council makes big decisions about money and the economy. He also serves on the boards of important companies. These include the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).
He is the chairman of several groups, too. He leads the UAE Genomics Council, which focuses on genetic research. He also chairs the executive committee for ADNOC's board of directors. Additionally, he leads the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), which supports new technologies.

Sheikh Khaled is married to Sheikha Fatima bint Suroor Al Nahyan. They have four children: two daughters and two sons.

Sheikh Khaled has received several honors from different countries:
Bahrain: He received the First Class of the King Hamad Order of the Renaissance on November 26, 2024.
Malaysia: He was given the Honorary Grand Commander of the Order of the Defender of the Realm on May 23, 2023.
Pahang: He became a Member 2nd Class of the Family Order of the Crown of Indra of Pahang on May 23, 2023.
