Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (born December 27, 1873 – died February 9, 1965) was an important educator, writer, and social reformer from pre-partition India. He helped a lot in setting up the University of Dhaka. A university, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, is named after him to honor his work.

His Life and Work in Education
Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah was a very smart student. He finished his Master of Arts (MA) degree in philosophy in 1895. He studied at Presidency College, Kolkata.
First Muslim Headmaster
After college, Ahsanullah became the first Muslim headmaster of Rajshahi Collegiate School. This was a big achievement at the time.
Special Awards and Titles
In 1911, he received a special honor called a "fellowship." This was from The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). This society has many members around the world. In the same year, the British Indian Government gave him the title "Khan Bahadur." This was a special award for people who did great public service.
Joining the Indian Education Service
Ahsanullah was the first person from both Hindus and Muslims in Bengal to join the Indian Education Service. This was a very important job in education. He also worked as a senator for the University of Calcutta. He was very active in the movement to create the University of Dhaka.
Ahsania Mission: Helping People
Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah cared a lot about helping others. He started two important organizations called "Ahsania Mission."
Nalta Central Ahsania Mission
On March 15, 1935, Ahsanullah founded the "Nalta Central Ahsania Mission (NCAM)." He started it in Nalta Sharif. This mission became the main Ahsania Mission in the world.
Dhaka Ahsania Mission
Later, in 1958, Ahsanullah started the Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM). This is a non-profit organization. Non-profit means it uses its money to help people, not to make a profit. Its motto is "Divine & Humanitarian Service," which means helping people with kindness and care.
Institutions Founded by DAM
The Dhaka Ahsania Mission has founded many important places. These include:
- Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST)
- Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Teachers Training College (KATTC)
- Ahsania Mission College (AMC)
- Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital (AMCGH)
These institutions help people get an education and good healthcare.
