The name Kibesillah comes from the Pomo language. The Pomo people are a group of Native Americans from Northern California. In their language, Kabe Sila means "Rock Flat."

Kibesillah is found right on the beautiful California State Route 1. This road runs along the Pacific coast. It is about 3.25 miles (5.2 kilometers) south of a town called Westport.
The community sits at an elevation of 138 feet (42 meters) above sea level. This makes it a coastal spot with views of the ocean.
A Bit of History
Kibesillah once had its own post office. This post office served the community for many years. It was open from 1874 until 1889. A post office helps people send and receive mail.
