Leon "Kida" Burns (born April 8, 2002), known as Kida the Great, is an American hip hop dancer, choreographer, and actor. He became famous for his awesome Instagram dance videos. These videos featured him dancing to popular hip-hop songs like "Don't Sleep" and "Cut It." In 2016, Kida won the title of "America's Favorite Dancer." This happened on the TV show So You Think You Can Dance: Next Generation.

Kida's Early Life and Inspiration
Kida Burns was born on April 8, 2002, in Sacramento, California. His parents are Tanisha Hunter and Leon Burns, Sr. Kida is one of seven children in his family.
Kida's first dance teacher was his oldest brother, Shaheem Sanchez Burns. Shaheem started teaching Kida when he was just four years old. Kida also found inspiration from dance movies. He loved watching films like Breakin' and the Step Up series with his dad. These movies helped spark his passion for dance. Kida faced a sad time when his father passed away in 2014.
Kida's Amazing Dance Career
Kida started training at Chapkis Dance Studio when he was 11. This studio is in Suisun City, California. His teacher there was Greg Chapkis, who was a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance.
Early Fame and TV Appearances
In 2010, Kida posted a video online. It showed him dancing with his crew called "The Art of Teknique." Famous rappers like Ludacris and Tyrese shared this video. Because of the video, Kida and his crew got to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
In 2015, Kida performed solo on two other TV shows. He was on The Queen Latifah Show and The Rachel Ray Show. These performances caught the eye of the people who make So You Think You Can Dance.
Winning So You Think You Can Dance
In 2016, Kida Burns won a big prize of $250,000. He was voted America's Favorite Dancer on the thirteenth season of So You Think You Can Dance: Next Generation. This was a huge achievement for him!
Music Videos and Live Performances
After his big win, Kida appeared in Chris Brown's music video for the song "Party." He danced alongside other hip-hop dancers, Ayo & Teo. Kida also performed live with the famous singer Usher. This performance took place at the 2016 BET Awards.
Kida's Acting Roles
Kida has also shown his talent as an actor. In 2012, he appeared in the movie Battlefield America. He played the character of Thomas Brown.
In 2020, Kida was part of the fourth season of World of Dance. He competed with other talented dancers like Bailey Sok. Kida also choreographed and appeared in the music video for Justin Bieber's song "Come Around Me." He even had a small role in the Disney movie Zombies 2.
More recently, Kida was a featured dancer in Kendrick Lamar's 2024 music video. This video was for the song "Not Like Us."
