Kim Emil Jörgen Johnsson (born March 16, 1976) is a former professional ice hockey player from Sweden. He played as a defenceman, which is a player who helps protect their team's goal. Kim Johnsson played for ten seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), which is the top ice hockey league in North America. Before joining the NHL, he played for six seasons with the Malmö Redhawks in Sweden's top league.

Playing in the NHL
Kim Johnsson was chosen by the New York Rangers in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He was the very last player picked in that draft! After playing two seasons with the Rangers, he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in 2001. A trade means players are exchanged between teams.
Playing for Different Teams
Kim Johnsson played for the Flyers for four seasons. Then, in 2006, he signed a four-year contract with the Minnesota Wild. Later, in 2010, he was traded again, this time to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Injury and Retirement
While playing for the Chicago Blackhawks, Kim Johnsson suffered a serious head injury called a concussion. This injury meant he could not play in the remaining games of the season or in the playoffs. Even though the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup that year, Kim Johnsson did not play enough games to have his name engraved on the trophy. He never played ice hockey professionally again after his concussion.
Life After Hockey
Since 2020, Kim Johnsson has been living a private life away from the public eye. He has fully recovered from his concussion.
Playing for Sweden
Kim Johnsson also represented his home country, Sweden, in major international ice hockey tournaments. He played for Sweden in the 2002 Winter Olympics. He also won several medals, including a gold medal, at the Ice Hockey World Championships.

Kim Johnsson received special awards during his career.
- 2001–02: He won the Barry Ashbee Trophy. This award is given to the best defenceman on the Philadelphia Flyers team.
- 2003–04: He won the Barry Ashbee Trophy again, showing he was a top player for the Flyers.
