Kimberly Hyacinthe is a Canadian athlete who is really good at sprinting. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, and her family comes from Haiti. Kimberly has represented Canada in many big competitions around the world. She even competed in the Olympic Games!

Kimberly is known for her speed, especially in the 200 metres race. She has won several gold and bronze medals during her career, showing her talent on the track.

Kimberly's Running Journey

Kimberly Hyacinthe started competing in major events when she was quite young. She took part in the World Youth Championships in 2005 and the World Junior Championships in 2006. These events are for younger athletes, helping them gain experience.

Kimberly achieved some amazing results during her career:

  • In 2009, at the Summer Universiade in Serbia, she won a gold medal in the 4 × 400 metres relay race. This is a team event where four runners each complete 400 meters.
  • Later in 2009, at the Jeux de la Francophonie in Lebanon, she had a fantastic performance. She won a silver medal in the 200 metres and two more gold medals in the 4 × 100 metres and 4 × 400 metres relays.
  • In 2010, she earned a silver medal in the 200 metres at the NACAC Under-23 Championships in the United States.
  • One of her biggest individual wins came in 2013. At the Summer Universiade in Russia, Kimberly won a gold medal in the 200 metres race! This was a huge achievement for her.
  • In 2015, she helped her team win a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the Pan American Games held in Toronto, Canada.

Competing on the World Stage

Kimberly also competed in the World Championships in Athletics, which are very important events for track and field athletes. She raced in the 200 metres at the 2011 World Championships and again at the 2013 World Championships. In 2013, her 4 × 100 metres relay team finished 6th in the world!

She also represented Canada at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland, where her 4 × 100 metres relay team placed 4th. In 2015, she competed in both the 100 metres and 200 metres at the World Championships in China.

Olympic Dream

In July 2016, Kimberly Hyacinthe was officially chosen to be part of Canada's team for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is a dream come true for many athletes, and it showed how much hard work and dedication she put into her sport.
