King Kao of Zhou (Chinese: 周考王; pinyin: Zhōu Kǎo Wáng), also known as King Kaozhe of Zhou, was an important ruler in ancient China. His personal name was Jī Wéi. He was the 31st king of the Chinese Zhou dynasty. He was also the nineteenth king of the Eastern Zhou period. King Kao ruled for 15 years, from 440 BC to 426 BC.
King Kao's father was King Zhending. King Zhending was the son of King Yuan of Zhou. After King Kao passed away, his son, King Weilie of Zhou, became the next ruler. King Weilie's reign began in 425 BC. King Kao also had a grandson named King An of Zhou.
Family of King Kao
King Kao had a son named Prince Wu. Prince Wu later became King Weilie of Zhou. He ruled from 425 BC until 402 BC.
