King Kuang of Zhou (Chinese: 周匡王; pinyin: Zhōu Kuāng Wáng), whose personal name was Ji Ban, was an important ruler in ancient China. He was the twentieth king of the powerful Chinese Zhou dynasty. He was also the eighth king during the later part of this dynasty, known as the Eastern Zhou.

King Kuang of Zhou: An Ancient Chinese Ruler

King Kuang ruled the Zhou dynasty from 612 BC to 607 BC. The Zhou dynasty was one of the longest-lasting dynasties in Chinese history. It played a huge role in shaping ancient Chinese culture and government. Kings during this time were seen as having a special connection to heaven.

Family and Succession

King Kuang was the son of King Qing of Zhou, who ruled before him. After King Kuang's reign ended in 607 BC, his brother, King Ding of Zhou, became the next king. This shows how leadership was passed down within the royal family during the Zhou dynasty.
