King Xiang of Zhou (died 619 BC), whose personal name was Ji Zheng, was an important ruler in ancient China. He was the eighteenth king of the Zhou dynasty and the sixth king of the Eastern Zhou period. King Xiang followed his father, King Hui of Zhou, on the throne.

Life as King of Zhou
King Xiang's time as ruler was not always peaceful. He faced challenges from within his own family.
Challenges and Return to Power
In 635 BC, King Xiang was forced out of his capital city. His own brother, named Dai, was responsible for this. However, King Xiang did not stay exiled for long. He received help from a powerful leader. Duke Wen of Jin stepped in and helped King Xiang. With Duke Wen's support, King Xiang was able to return to his capital. He then took back his position as king.
Family Life and Successor
King Xiang married a woman known as Lady of the Dí. However, he later decided to end their marriage. After King Xiang's death in 619 BC, his son became the next ruler. His son, King Qing of Zhou, took over the throne.

King Xiang had a family, including a wife and sons.

- His wife was Zhai Hou. She belonged to the Kui clan of Di. She was later removed from her position as queen.
King Xiang's Sons
- Prince Renchen was one of his sons. He later became King Qing of Zhou. King Qing ruled from 618 BC to 613 BC.
