Kingsland, officially known as the City of Kingsland, is a small city in Cleveland County, located in south central Arkansas, United States. It is part of the Pine Bluff, Arkansas area. In 2020, about 347 people lived there. Kingsland is famous as the birthplace of the legendary musician Johnny Cash. His family had a cotton farm in the area.

Kingsland has a rich history, especially concerning its schools and famous residents.
Early Schools in Kingsland
In 1890, a two-story building became Kingsland's first public school. Later, in 1940, a new school was built. This happened during the Great Depression, a time when many people struggled. The new school was part of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) projects. These projects were started by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to create jobs and build important things.
Johnny Cash's Connection to Kingsland
Country music legend Johnny Cash was born in Kingsland in 1932. His parents were cotton farmers and faced hard times during the Great Depression. When Johnny was three years old, his family moved away. However, he returned to Kingsland in March 1994. He was there for a special event: the dedication of the new post office, which was named in his honor.
Kingsland School Fire
In May 2003, the main building of the Kingsland School, which was 63 years old, was destroyed by a fire. The fire caused a lot of damage, estimated to be over $2.1 million. The old wood and varnish in the building made the fire spread quickly.
