Cory Jermaine Carr (born December 5, 1975) is a retired professional basketball player. He was born in America but also became an Israeli citizen. Cory played in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls. He also played for many years in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. After retiring as a player, he became a head coach for a women's basketball team in Israel.

Cory Carr's Early Life and College Basketball

Cory Carr grew up in Fordyce, Arkansas. He played high school basketball in Kingsland, Arkansas. After high school, he went to Texas Tech University to play college basketball. He was a very good player there.

College Achievements

  • In 1995–96, he made the most three-point shots in his conference. He scored 92 three-pointers that year.
  • In 1996–97, he led the Big 12 Conference in points per game. He averaged 23.1 points each game.
  • In 1997–98, he again led the Big 12 in points per game, averaging 23.3 points. He was also great at free throws, making 86.1% of them.
  • He was named to the All-Big 12 First Team in 1997–98.
  • During his college career, Cory scored a total of 1,904 points. He also grabbed 411 rebounds and made 262 three-point shots.

Playing in the NBA and Overseas

After college, Cory Carr was chosen in the NBA draft in 1998. The Atlanta Hawks picked him in the second round.

Time with the Chicago Bulls

Cory played one season in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls. This was during the 1998-99 season. He played in 42 games and averaged 4 points per game.

Career in Israel and Europe

In 2000, Cory moved to Israel and started a long basketball career there. He played for many different teams in Israel, including:

Cory Carr has two sons who are also athletes. His sons, Tristin McCollum and Zyon McCollum, play in the NFL. He is also a cousin of Cliff Levingston, who was an NBA player.
