Cory Jermaine Carr (born December 5, 1975) is a retired basketball player from the United States and Israel. He used to play in the NBA and the Israeli Basketball Premier League. After his playing career, he became a head coach for the Israeli women's basketball team, Israel Girls Basketball Academy. Cory Carr played for famous teams like the Chicago Bulls and the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Early Life and College Career

Cory Carr grew up in Kingsland, Arkansas. He was a very good basketball player in high school. After high school, he went to Texas Tech University to play college basketball.

College Achievements

While at Texas Tech, Cory was a star player.

  • In the 1995–96 season, he made 92 three-point shots. This was the most in the Southwest Conference.
  • The next year, in 1996–97, he scored 23.1 points per game. This was the highest in the Big 12.
  • In his final college year, 1997–98, he was again the top scorer in the Big 12, averaging 23.3 points per game. He was also great at free throws, making 86.1% of them.
  • He was chosen for the All-Big 12 First Team in 1998.
  • By the end of his college career, Cory had scored a total of 1,904 points. He also grabbed 411 rebounds and made 262 three-point shots.

Professional Basketball Career

Cory Carr's professional career began after college.

NBA Draft and Chicago Bulls

In 1998, Cory was picked by the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA draft. He was the 49th player chosen overall. He then played one season for the Chicago Bulls during the 1998-99 NBA season. In 42 games, he averaged 4 points per game.

Playing in Israel and Europe

In 2000, Cory moved to Israel and started a long career there. He played for many Israeli teams, including:
