Kirk Patrick Snyder (born June 5, 1983) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a shooting guard and small forward. Snyder was known for his athletic skills on the court.

College Basketball Career
Kirk Snyder grew up in Upland, California. He played college basketball at the University of Nevada. In 2004, he helped his team, the Nevada Wolf Pack, reach the "Sweet 16" in the NCAA tournament. The "Sweet 16" is when only 16 teams are left in the national college basketball championship.
During this exciting tournament run, the Wolf Pack beat strong teams like Gonzaga and Michigan State. They eventually lost in the third round to Georgia Tech.
Professional Basketball Journey
Kirk Snyder began his professional career in 2004. He was chosen by the Utah Jazz as the 16th player in the first round of the 2004 NBA draft. After playing one season with the Jazz, he was part of a huge trade. This trade involved 13 players and 5 teams, which was one of the biggest in NBA history!
Playing for New Orleans
Snyder then joined the New Orleans Hornets. During his only season with the Hornets (2005–2006), he became a starting player. He scored a career-high 28 points in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He played nearly 20 minutes per game in 68 games for the team.
Moving to Other Teams
After his time in New Orleans, Snyder was traded to the Houston Rockets. He played for the Rockets until February 2008. Then, he was traded again to the Minnesota Timberwolves. His time with the Timberwolves was his last playing in the NBA.
After leaving the NBA, Snyder continued his basketball career overseas. He played for the Zhejiang Horses in the Chinese Basketball Association from 2008 to 2009. Later, in 2011, he joined the Halifax Rainmen in Canada. He also played for BC Nizhny Novgorod in Russia for a short time that same year.
Personal Life
Kirk Snyder married his college sweetheart, Haley Dahl. They had three children together. Haley's cousin, Harvey Dahl, was also a professional athlete who played NFL football.
