Kirsty Jane Gallacher (born on 20 January 1976) is a well-known British television presenter. She started her career at Sky Sports News in 1998. Over the years, she hosted several popular shows like Kirsty's Home Videos and RI:SE. She returned to Sky Sports News from 2011 to 2018. More recently, from June to December 2021, Kirsty co-presented The Great British Breakfast on the news channel GB News.

Early Life and Family
Kirsty Gallacher was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her father, Bernard Gallacher, was a professional golfer and captain of the Ryder Cup team. Her mother is Lesley Gallacher. When Kirsty was about 18 months old, her family moved to Virginia Water, England. They lived on the Wentworth Estate, where famous neighbours like Bruce Forsyth also lived nearby. Kirsty went to school at Coworth Flexlands and St George's School in Ascot, Berkshire.
Television Career Highlights
Kirsty Gallacher's journey in television began when she was approached by Mark Sharman from Sky Sports. She started working behind the scenes in 1996. Soon after, in 1998, she got her big break as a presenter on Sky Sports News.
Since then, Kirsty has presented many sports shows. These include 90 Minutes, Soccer Extra, and Soccer AM.
Hosting Popular Shows
From 2000 to 2004, Kirsty hosted Kirsty's Home Videos on Sky One. This show was similar to You've Been Framed!, where viewers sent in their funny home videos. In 2002, she presented the morning show RI:SE. She also appeared as a guest on popular panel shows like They Think It's All Over and A Question of Sport. Kirsty also presented the "Ant vs Dec" challenges on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
In 2005, Kirsty won the third series of the reality TV show The Games on Channel 4. On this show, celebrities competed in various sports. She then co-presented the show in the following years. In 2008, Kirsty presented the new version of Gladiators on Sky One.
She also appeared on game shows like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2008 and Beat the Chasers in 2024.
Later Career and Radio
In May 2011, Kirsty returned to Sky Sports to present for Sky Sports News. In 2015, she joined the popular dance competition Strictly Come Dancing. She was paired with professional dancer Brendan Cole. They were eliminated in week 6 of the series.
Kirsty left Sky Sports in May 2018. In March 2021, she announced she would be joining GB News to present a breakfast show. However, she left GB News in December 2021. She explained that she had a non-cancerous growth in her inner ear, which caused ringing in her ears. The early morning starts for the news channel made her symptoms worse.
Since April 2021, Kirsty has also been a presenter on Smooth Radio. In January 2025, she is set to start presenting the drivetime show on Gold Radio.
Awards and Recognition
Kirsty Gallacher has received several awards and nominations for her work. In 1998, she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Royal Television Society Television Sports Awards. She won the Satellite/Digital TV Personality award at the 2002 Television and Radio Industries Club Awards. The next year, in 2003, her show Kirsty's Home Videos won the Satellite/Digital Programme award. She also received a "Platinum Award" for Best Entertainment Programme at the 2002 Houston International Film Festival.
Personal Life
Kirsty Gallacher is related to other famous people. Her cousin is the golfer Stephen Gallacher. Her sister, Laura Gallacher, is married to comedian Russell Brand.
Kirsty married rugby player Paul Sampson in 2010. They have two sons together. The couple later separated in 2015.
In April 2023, Kirsty completed the London Marathon. She finished the race in 5 hours, 35 minutes, and 35 seconds. She had also run the marathon in 2019.
