About Kiruna FF
Kiruna FF/BoIS was created on December 21, 1970. It was formed when four smaller clubs, Kiruna AIF, IFK Kiruna, Kebne IK, and Kiruna BK, joined together. Since 2009, the club has been known simply as Kiruna FF. This club is special because it is Sweden's northernmost football club!
Club History and Success
The year 1991 was a very exciting time for Kiruna FF. The men's team moved up from Division 1 Norra to play in the Division 1 Kvalsvenskan. This was the highest level of second-tier football in Sweden at the time. After that, the club played in different divisions. Since 2009, they have been playing in Division 3 Norra Norrland, which is the fifth level of Swedish football.
The club has also won the Midnattsolscupen (Midnight Sun Cup) several times. They won this cup in 1985, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2005, and 2008.
Developing Young Players
Kiruna FF works hard to train young football players. They have many dedicated and skilled youth leaders. The club's main goal is to help young players grow and eventually join the first team. Some players who started at KFF have gone on to play in top Swedish leagues. For example, Jonas Lantto played in the Allsvenskan, and Selina Henriksson played in the Damallsvenskan.
The club is connected to the Norrbottens Fotbollförbund, which is the football association for their region.
