About Kiruna FF
Kiruna FF was formed on December 21, 1970. Four different clubs joined together to create it. These clubs were Kiruna AIF, IFK Kiruna, Kebne IK, and Kiruna BK. Since 2009, the club has been known simply as Kiruna FF. This club is special because it is Sweden's northernmost football club.
Club Highlights and Successes
The year 1991 was one of the most successful for Kiruna FF. The team moved up to a higher level of play. They competed in the Division 1 Kvalsvenskan. This was the highest level of second-tier Swedish football at that time.
The club has also won the Midnattsolscupen (Midnight Sun Cup) several times. They won it in 1985, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2005, and 2008.
Developing Young Talent
Kiruna FF works hard to train young players. They have many dedicated youth leaders. The club wants to help young players become future first-team members. Two players who started at KFF now play in top Swedish leagues. Jonas Lantto plays in the men's Allsvenskan league. Selina Henriksson plays in the women's Damallsvenskan league.
The club is connected to the Norrbottens Fotbollförbund. This is the football association for their region.
