Koç Holding A.Ş. is a very big company in Turkey. It's like a giant group of many different businesses. In fact, it's the largest group of companies in Turkey! It's also the only Turkish company listed on the Fortune Global 500. This means it's one of the 500 biggest companies in the world. The company's main office is in Istanbul, Turkey. The Koç family, one of the richest families in Turkey, owns and controls Koç Holding.
The company was set up in its current form in 1963. This happened when its founder, Vehbi Koç, brought all his different businesses together. He had started his very first business back in 1926.

History of Koç Holding
The story of Koç Holding began in 1926. That's when Vehbi Koç started his first business. This small beginning grew into the huge company we know today.
Leadership Changes Over Time
In 1984, Vehbi Koç decided to step down as the head of the company. He handed his job over to his son, Rahmi M. Koç.
A few years later, in September 1988, the company moved its main office. It moved from one part of Istanbul to Nakkaştepe, which is on the Asian side of the city.
On April 4, 2003, Rahmi Koç also retired. He passed his leadership role to his oldest son, Mustafa V. Koç. Rahmi Koç still stayed involved as an honorary chairman and a member of the company's board.
In February 2015, Levent Çakıroğlu became the new CEO of Koç Holding. He took over from Turgay Durak.
Then, in early 2016, Ömer Koç became the chairman of the board. This happened after Mustafa V. Koç passed away.
