Koichi Ae's Football Journey
Koichi Ae was born in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, on April 15, 1976. He loved football from a young age. After finishing high school, he continued to play football while studying at Chuo University.
Starting His Professional Career
In 1999, Koichi Ae joined Gamba Osaka. This was a big club in Japan's top football league, the J1 League. As a goalkeeper, he trained hard with the team.
Playing for Different Teams
While with Gamba Osaka, Koichi Ae also played for other teams for short periods. These temporary moves are called "loans." In 2000, he joined Avispa Fukuoka for a few months. Then, in 2001, he played for Kashima Antlers for part of the year. These loans helped him gain more experience. Even with these moves, he did not play in many official matches until 2002.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2003, Koichi Ae moved to Montedio Yamagata. This club played in the J2 League, which is Japan's second-highest football division. He played in four matches for Montedio Yamagata in 2004. However, he did not play much in other years. He decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2005 season.
