Koji Ezumi's Football Journey
Koji Ezumi was born in Izumo, Shimane on December 18, 1978. After finishing his studies at Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences, he began his professional football career.
Starting with Oita Trinita
In 2002, Ezumi joined Oita Trinita, a club in the J2 League. That year, Oita Trinita won the J2 League championship. This win meant they were promoted to the top league, the J1 League.
Even though the team did well, Ezumi did not play many games at first. Other goalkeepers like Hayato Okanaka and Riki Takasaki played more. However, in April 2004, Ezumi became the main goalkeeper for a short time. He later lost his spot to a new player, Shusaku Nishikawa.
Time with Omiya Ardija
In 2006, Koji Ezumi moved to Omiya Ardija, which was a J1 League club. He worked hard and became the regular goalkeeper in June 2007. He played in every single match for the team in both 2008 and 2009. This showed how important he was to the team.
Later, in 2010, he lost his starting position to Takashi Kitano. He did not play much for Omiya Ardija after that, until 2014.
Final Years at Kataller Toyama
In 2015, Ezumi joined Kataller Toyama. This club had just moved down to the J3 League. He became the main goalkeeper there, but in July, he lost his position to Tatsumi Iida. Koji Ezumi decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2016 season.
Throughout his career, Koji Ezumi played a total of 150 league games. He was a dedicated goalkeeper for many years in the J.League.
