Riki Takasaki's Football Journey
Riki Takasaki was born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, on July 11, 1970. After finishing his studies at Nippon Sport Science University, he started his professional football career in 1993. He joined a team called PJM Futures, which later became known as Tosu Futures and then Sagan Tosu.
Starting His Career at Sagan Tosu
For the first few years, Riki didn't get to play much in games. But in 1997, he became the main goalkeeper for Sagan Tosu. That year, his team did very well and was promoted to a new league called J2 League in 1999. He played many matches as the regular goalkeeper for four seasons with Sagan Tosu.
Moving to J1 League Teams
In 2001, Riki moved to J1 League club JEF United Ichihara. However, he didn't play much there because another goalkeeper, Ryo Kushino, was often chosen instead.
In 2002, he moved to Kashima Antlers, another big team. Again, he found it hard to get playing time because the team's main goalkeeper was Hitoshi Sogahata, who also played for the Japanese national team.
Time at Oita Trinita and Retirement
In 2004, Riki joined Oita Trinita. Here, he had a chance to play more games, often competing for the goalkeeper spot with Hayato Okanaka. He played many matches in 2004. But in 2005, a new goalkeeper named Shusaku Nishikawa joined the team, and Riki didn't play as much.
His last move was to Nagoya Grampus Eight in 2006. He didn't play any games there and decided to stop playing professional football at the end of the 2006 season.
