Koromiko is a small place, or locality, in the Marlborough area of New Zealand. It's a quiet spot, known for its airport.
You can find Koromiko about 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) southwest of Picton. It's also about 21 kilometers (13 miles) north of Blenheim. The main road, State Highway 1, goes right through Koromiko.
Picton Airport: Your Gateway to Wellington
Koromiko is home to the Picton Aerodrome, which is also known as Picton Airport. This airport is quite busy for its size!
Small planes fly from here to Wellington several times every day. These flights are run by an airline called Sounds Air. It's a quick way to travel between the two places.
Koromiko School: A Look Back
For many years, Koromiko had its own school. Koromiko School taught students from their first year all the way up to year 8. This means it was a full primary school.
The school first opened its doors in 1873. It helped educate many children in the area for a long time. However, Koromiko School closed down at the start of 2013.
