Konstantinos "Kostas" Tsimikas (born on May 12, 1996) is a professional footballer from Greece. He plays as a left-back for the English club Liverpool and for the Greece national team.
Kostas started his career at Olympiacos in Greece. There, he won two league titles. He also played on loan for teams like Esbjerg and Willem II. In 2020, he joined Liverpool. With Liverpool, he has helped the team win the Premier League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup. He first played for the senior Greek national team in 2018.

Starting His Football Career
Kostas Tsimikas was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He grew up in a village called Lefkonas. He began playing football for his local village team. When he was 14, he moved to AS Neapoli Thessaloniki. In 2013, he joined Panserraikos and scored 5 goals in the 2013–14 season.
Playing for Olympiacos
Tsimikas made his first team debut for Olympiacos on December 19, 2015. This was a Super League match against AEL Kalloni.
Loan to Esbjerg in Denmark
On December 28, 2016, Kostas went on loan to Esbjerg, a Danish club. He stayed there until the end of the 2016–17 season. In his first game for Esbjerg on February 17, 2017, he scored a goal. His team won 3–0 against SønderjyskE Fodbold. After playing 13 games, he returned to Olympiacos.
Loan to Willem II in the Netherlands
On June 30, 2017, Tsimikas went on another loan. This time, he joined Willem II, a Dutch club, for a whole season. He played regularly in the 2017–18 Eredivisie, starting 32 out of 34 matches. He also scored 5 goals for them.
In a cup game, his free kick helped Willem II win against Roda. He even scored a fantastic "scorpion kick" goal in a 3–2 win against FC Utrecht. This amazing goal was voted Voetbal International Goal of the Month. He was also named Eredivisie Rookie of the Month for March 2018.
Back at Olympiacos
After his loan, coach Pedro Martins decided to keep Tsimikas at Olympiacos for the 2018–19 season. In November 2018, he made a great pass for a goal in a Europa League game. Even though he didn't start every game, he signed a new contract to stay with the club until 2023.
Joining Liverpool
On August 11, 2020, Tsimikas signed with Premier League club Liverpool. The transfer fee was reported to be about £11.75 million. He became only the second Greek player to join Liverpool.
He played his first game for Liverpool in the EFL Cup on September 24, 2020. Liverpool won 7–2 against Lincoln City. He made his Premier League debut as a substitute against Manchester City.
On August 14, 2021, he started his first league game for Liverpool. They won 3–0 against Norwich City. A week later, he was named man-of-the-match for his great play against Burnley.
In April 2022, during the 2021–22 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, Tsimikas helped Liverpool reach the semi-finals. He provided two assists in a 3–3 draw against Benfica. He was chosen as the player of the match.
On May 14, 2022, Liverpool played Chelsea in the FA Cup final. The game was 0–0 after 90 minutes. Tsimikas came on as a substitute in extra time. Liverpool won the penalty shoot-out 6–5, and Tsimikas scored the winning penalty. He later said he chose to take the seventh penalty kick.
On September 25, 2023, Tsimikas signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool, keeping him at the club until 2027. In December 2023, he broke his collarbone during a game against Arsenal.
Tsimikas played in the 2024 EFL Cup final against Chelsea. He assisted Virgil van Dijk's winning goal from a corner kick, helping Liverpool win 1–0. On April 27, 2025, Tsimikas made history. He became the first Greek footballer to win the Premier League after Liverpool's 5–1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
Playing for Greece
Tsimikas was first called up to the Greece senior team in October 2018. He played his first international game on October 12 against Hungary. In that match, he made a pass that led to the only goal of the game.
