Kourtney Kardashian Barker (born Kourtney Mary Kardashian, April 18, 1979) is an American media personality and socialite. She became famous in 2007 when she and her family started starring in the reality television show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. This show was very popular and led to other shows like Kourtney and Kim Take Miami and Kourtney and Kim Take New York.

After 20 seasons, the family decided to end Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2021. They then started a new reality show called The Kardashians on Hulu in 2022.

Kourtney and her sisters, Kim and Khloé, are also involved in the fashion world. They have created clothing lines and perfumes. In 2010, they wrote a book together called Kardashian Konfidential. Kourtney also launched her own website, Poosh, in 2019.

The Kardashian sisters are very popular on social media. They often share posts about products like beauty items and drinks.

Early life and education

Kourtney Mary Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, California, on April 18, 1979. Her parents were Robert Kardashian and Kris. She has two younger sisters, Kim and Khloé, and a younger brother, Rob.

In 1991, her parents divorced. Later that year, her mother married Bruce Jenner, an Olympic champion. Through this marriage, Kourtney gained several step-siblings and two half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie.

Kourtney went to Marymount High School, an all-girls school in Los Angeles. After high school, she studied at Southern Methodist University for two years. She then moved to Tucson, Arizona, and graduated from the University of Arizona. She earned a bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts and also studied Spanish.

Career in television and business

Starting out in reality TV (2005–2010)

Kardashian first appeared on reality television in 2005 on a show called Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive. On this show, she earned money for charity.

Later, her mother, Kris Jenner, met with producer Ryan Seacrest. They wanted to create a reality show about their family. Seacrest liked the idea, thinking of other popular family shows. The show, called Keeping Up with the Kardashians, started on October 14, 2007, on the E! network.

The show followed Kourtney and her family, including her parents, sisters, and brother. It showed their personal and work lives. The series became very popular and led to several spin-off shows.

In 2009, Kourtney and her sister Khloé announced a spin-off show. It followed them as they opened a D-A-S-H store in Miami, Florida. This show, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, started in August 2009. Kourtney and her sisters Kim and Khloé also made a guest appearance on the TV series 90210.

Kourtney and her mother opened children's clothing stores called Smooch. Kourtney also co-owned D-A-S-H, a clothing store, with her sisters Kim and Khloé. These stores were in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City. The D-A-S-H stores closed in 2018.

In 2010, Kourtney and her sisters launched a clothing line for Bebe. They also worked on another clothing line called K-Dash, sold on QVC. Later that year, they released a sunless tanning product called Kardashian Glamour Tan. Kourtney also co-wrote the book Kardashian Konfidential with her sisters Khloé and Kim. More TV shows and business ventures (2011–2018)

In January 2011, Kourtney and her younger sister Kim starred in Kourtney and Kim Take New York. Kourtney's partner, Scott Disick, and Kim's husband also appeared. The show was renewed for a second season in November 2011.

Kourtney also tried acting. She had a guest role on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live in March 2011. She played an attorney named Kassandra Kavanaugh. In November 2011, she released a novel called Dollhouse with her sisters Khloé and Kim.

The Kardashian sisters were also spokeswomen for a skincare line called PerfectSkin. They also released a jewelry collection with the company Virgins, Saints, and Angels. This jewelry reflected their Armenian background.

On September 12, 2022, Kourtney launched her new health brand called Lemme. This brand sells vitamins and gummy supplements.

In April 2022, Kourtney and her family returned to television with their new reality show, The Kardashians. They moved from the E! Network to Hulu. The show features Kourtney, her sisters, mother, and husband Travis Barker. The first season premiered on April 14, 2022. It can be watched on Disney+. The show was renewed for a second and third season, which aired in 2022 and 2023.

Personal life and family

In October 2019, Kourtney and her children were baptized in an Armenian Apostolic ceremony. This took place at the Etchmiadzin Cathedral in Armenia. During the ceremony, she received the Armenian name Gayane.

In October 2020, Kourtney shared messages supporting Armenia and Artsakh. This was during the Nagorno-Karabakh war.

Relationships and children

From 2006 to 2015, Kourtney had an on-again, off-again relationship with Scott Disick. Kourtney has three children with Scott: two sons and one daughter. Their relationship and Kourtney's pregnancies were shown on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

In January 2021, it was confirmed that Kourtney was in a relationship with musician Travis Barker. In October 2021, Kourtney and Travis got engaged. They had an unofficial wedding in Las Vegas in April 2022. The couple officially married on May 15, 2022, in Santa Barbara, California. They also had a religious wedding ceremony in Portofino, Italy, on May 22, 2022. On November 4, 2023, it was announced that their first child together, a son, was born.
