History of Kragnes Township
Kragnes Township was officially started on January 27, 1880. It was named after A. O. Kragnes, who was the first person to settle there permanently. Mr. Kragnes came from Norway and made his home in the area in 1875.
The first leaders of the township board included Kittil T. Eiken, who was the chairman. A. O. Kragnes also served as a supervisor. These early leaders helped set up the rules and services for the new township.
