Kre-O was a cool series of building toys made by a company called Oxford in South Korea. Hasbro, a big toy company, sold them. These toys first came out in stores in late 2011. The name Kre-O comes from a Latin word, creo, which means "I create." This makes sense because you create things with these toys!
Kre-O sets included special action figures called "Kreons." These figures could move their arms and legs a lot. One neat thing about Kre-O blocks is that they worked with Lego bricks. This also meant they worked with other popular building toys like Mega Bloks and Cobi (building blocks).

Kre-O created many different toy lines based on popular stories and games. Each line brought famous characters and vehicles to life as building sets.
Transformers Kre-O Sets
The first Kre-O series was based on Transformers. These sets were first shown in February 2011. Transformers Kre-O figures looked like characters from the live-action movies. They also included figures from the Transformers: Prime and Beast Hunters cartoons.
G.I. Joe Kre-O Sets
G.I. Joe became the third Kre-O toy line. It came out in February 2013. These sets were sold only at Toys "R" Us stores. This collection was mostly based on the classic G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toys and cartoons. Some sets even had "Adventure Team" Kreons.
Star Trek Kre-O Sets
The fourth line of Kre-O sets was Star Trek, released in April 2013. The first sets and Kreons were based on the 2009 Star Trek movie. They also included characters from its sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness. Hasbro even posted a fun video online. It showed the famous U.S.S. Enterprise being built with Kre-O blocks.
Other Exciting Kre-O Lines
At a big event in 2013, Hasbro announced more new Kre-O lines. These included sets for Dungeons & Dragons and Cityville Invasion. They also added more sets for Star Trek, G.I. Joe, and Transformers.
Cityville Invasion
Cityville Invasion was the fifth Kre-O line. It was based on the popular CityVille online game. This line had a cool new feature. It was called "Sonic Motion Technology." This technology made special Kre-O bricks move in certain ways.
Dungeons & Dragons
Dungeons & Dragons was the sixth Kre-O line. It came out in January 2014. This series was based on the very popular role-playing game of the same name.
Trolls Movie Sets
In early 2017, Hasbro released a new line of Kre-O products. These sets were based on the fun Trolls movie.
Kre-O in Other Media
Kre-O toys even appeared in a TV show! They were featured in a part of Robot Chicken. This segment was called World War B. It was a funny spoof of the movie World War Z. In the spoof, Lego minifigures were attacked by Kre-O zombies.
