Kris Jenkins (born November 20, 1993) is an American former professional basketball player. He is best known for making an amazing shot that won the 2016 NCAA championship game for the Villanova Wildcats. Today, he works at Villanova University helping student athletes.

High School Basketball
Kris Jenkins went to Gonzaga College High School. When he was a junior, he was a star player. He scored about 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in each game. In his senior year, he continued to play very well. Because of his great skills, The Washington Post named him the best boys' basketball player in the Washington D.C. area for the 2012–13 season.
College Basketball Career
Jenkins played all his college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats.
Freshman and Sophomore Years
During his first year, the 2013–14 season, he played as a backup player. He scored about 4 points per game. In his second year, he improved, scoring about 6 points per game.
Winning the NCAA Championship
As a junior, Kris had an incredible season. On March 1, 2016, he scored his highest points ever in a single game, getting 31 points against DePaul. He played so well in the Big East Tournament that he was named to the All-Tournament team.
The most famous moment of his career happened on April 4, 2016. In the NCAA championship game against North Carolina, the game was tied with no time left. Kris Jenkins took a shot from far away, and it went in! This amazing buzzer-beating three-point shot won the national championship for Villanova. That season, he averaged about 13 points and 4 rebounds per game.
Senior Year and Records
In his senior year, Jenkins continued to be a key player. He was recognized as an Honorable Mention All-Big East player. He scored about 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds per game. By the end of his time at Villanova, Kris Jenkins had scored 1,383 points. This placed him 34th on the list of all-time scorers for the Villanova basketball program.
Professional Basketball
After college, Kris Jenkins tried to join the NBA. He was not chosen in the 2017 NBA draft.
Playing in the G League
He then joined the Washington Wizards for the 2017 NBA Summer League. Later, he was picked by the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the 2017 NBA G League Draft. He played for the Skyforce for a short time in 2017.
Playing in Germany
In 2018, Kris Jenkins signed with a German basketball team called Eisbären Bremerhaven. He played for them during the 2018–2019 season.
Executive Career
In February 2020, Kris Jenkins returned to Villanova University, where he played college basketball. He was hired as an assistant in the student athlete development field. In this role, he helps current student athletes grow and succeed both in their sports and in their studies.
Personal Life
Kris Jenkins grew up living with Nate Britt. They are like brothers. It was interesting because they played against each other in the 2016 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship Game. Kris played for Villanova, and Nate played for the Tar Heels.
The very next year, the Tar Heels made it to the NCAA Tournament championship game again. Kris Jenkins went to watch and support his adoptive brother's team. He sat right behind the Tar Heels' bench and even wore a Carolina T-shirt!
