Krokom Municipality (which is Krokoms kommun in Swedish and Krokomen tjïelte in South Sami) is a special area in Jämtland County in northern Sweden. It is like a local government area. The main town and where the local government offices are located is called Krokom.
This municipality was created in 1974. Before that, several smaller areas like Alsen, Föllinge, Offerdal, and Rödön joined together. Even earlier, in 1952 and 1969, other smaller areas had also combined to form bigger ones.
