Kyree Walker (born November 20, 2000) is an American professional basketball player. He plays for the Nalaikh Bison team in The League. In high school, he played for Moreau Catholic High School and Hillcrest Prep Academy. Kyree was a top player. He was even named the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year.
Early Life and High School Basketball
Kyree Walker became famous in eighth grade. People loved watching his amazing slam dunks in videos. He often played against older players. This included high school seniors. He played with his Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team, the Oakland Soldiers.
As a freshman, Kyree played for Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, California. He scored about 21 points per game. He also got 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His team finished second in the California Interscholastic Federation Division II. Because of his great play, he was named MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year.
Before his sophomore year, Kyree moved to Hillcrest Prep. This is a basketball program in Phoenix, Arizona. His dad, Khari, joined the coaching staff there. In his senior year, Kyree left Hillcrest Prep. He wanted to play college or professional basketball. He finished high school in December 2019. He decided not to play high school basketball while thinking about his next steps.
Kyree was a highly rated player. Many colleges wanted him to play for them. He decided to skip college basketball. He chose to go straight to professional basketball.
Professional Basketball Career
Kyree Walker started his professional journey. He trained to get ready for the 2021 NBA draft. For the 2021–22 season, he joined the Capital City Go-Go. This team is part of the NBA G League. The G League is where players develop their skills. He joined them after a successful tryout.
In December 2022, Kyree moved to Greece. He played for the Aias Evosmou team. This team is in the Greek A2 Basket League.
In June 2023, Kyree signed with the Scarborough Shooting Stars. They play in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. He later rejoined them in May 2024.
In January 2024, Kyree joined the IHC Apes. This team is in The League in Mongolia.
In June 2024, Kyree signed with the Ottawa BlackJacks. They are also in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
On November 27, 2024, Kyree joined the Nalaikh Bison. This is another team in The League.
