L'Alfàs del Pi is a lovely town and municipality in the Valencian Community of Spain. It is located in the Marina Baixa area of Alicante province. The town sits near the beautiful Serra Gelada mountains.
This area is known for its sunny weather and beautiful beaches. L'Alfàs del Pi covers about 19.3 square kilometers. In 2019, about 20,482 people lived there.
Many people from other countries live in L'Alfàs del Pi. It has the second-largest group of Norwegians living outside Norway! There are also many Dutch and English people. The town's main business is tourism, which means many visitors come to enjoy the area.

Important Buildings
The most important building in the town is the Catholic church of Crist del Bon Encert. It was built a long time ago, in 1784. The symbol of the town is a pine tree. You can find a pine tree in the church square.
The Albir Beach Area
L'Alfàs del Pi has a special beach community called Platja de l'Albir. It is located between the towns of Benidorm to the south and Altea to the north. This area used to have many citrus and almond farms.
Since 1995, Albir has grown a lot. It started as a small village and is now part of a municipality with over 20,000 people. Most of the people living here originally came from Northern Europe.
International Community
L'Alfàs del Pi has a very diverse population. More people who were born in other countries live here than people born in Spain! The largest group of foreign residents are Norwegians.
The Norwegian community has two public schools. These schools are paid for by the Norwegian government. There are also two special centers for older Norwegians. Plus, the only volunteering center opened by the Norwegian government outside of Norway is here!
Symbols of Peace
In 2013, a special sculpture was put in L'Alfàs del Pi. It is called "Paraboloide" and was made by the artist Agustín Ibarrola. This sculpture represents peace. It was created to honor the victims of a sad event that happened in Norway in 2011. The sculpture is in a park that will be named after Johan Galtung, a famous peace researcher.
Events and Activities
L'Alfàs del Pi is famous for its film festival. This festival happens every year and is well-known across Spain. It's a great event for movie lovers!
