LaDarius Robert Perkins (born September 18, 1990) is a former American football player. He played as a running back, which is a player who primarily carries the ball. LaDarius played college football for Mississippi State University.

After college, he signed with the Green Bay Packers in 2014. He was an undrafted free agent, meaning no team picked him during the main NFL draft. However, he was still able to sign with a team. Perkins also played for several other teams during his career. These included the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts. He also played in other leagues like the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL), the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the Alliance of American Football (AAF).

LaDarius Perkins' Football Journey

Starting with the Green Bay Packers

After the 2014 NFL draft, LaDarius Perkins joined the Green Bay Packers. He signed with the team on May 12, 2014. This was his first step into professional football.

Joining the Pittsburgh Steelers

Later in 2014, Perkins moved to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was signed to their practice squad on November 19, 2014. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster. They can be called up if a player on the main team gets injured.

Time with the Indianapolis Colts

Perkins continued his journey in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts. He was signed to their practice squad on December 16, 2015. This gave him another chance to train and potentially play for an NFL team.

Playing in the Canadian Football League

In 2016, LaDarius Perkins signed with the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League (CFL). This league is similar to the NFL but has slightly different rules. He joined them halfway through the 2017 season.

Perkins got his first chance to play a lot when other running backs on the team were injured. In a game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, he carried the ball 19 times for 105 yards. This was a great performance for him. He was released by the Eskimos on May 20, 2018.

With the Birmingham Iron

In 2019, Perkins joined the Birmingham Iron. This team was part of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), a new league at the time. He played in the first five games of the season.

During his time with the Birmingham Iron, he carried the ball 14 times for 42 yards. He also caught 14 passes for 66 yards. He was waived by the team on March 12, 2019.
