La Chaux-du-Milieu is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Neuchâtel region of Switzerland. It's a beautiful place nestled in the Swiss countryside.

History of La Chaux-du-Milieu

La Chaux-du-Milieu has a long history. It was first mentioned way back in 1310. At that time, it was known by a different name, calvum de Escoblon. Later, it was also called Chaux de Cachot and Chaux Baussan.

La Chaux-du-Milieu covers an area of about 17.3 square kilometers (6.7 square miles). A large part of this land is used for farming, about 49.1%. Almost half of the area, 48.3%, is covered by forests.

The rest of the land, about 2.5%, has buildings or roads. A very small part, 0.2%, is unproductive land. Most of the forested land is dense forest. Some areas also have orchards or small groups of trees. For farming, some land is used for crops, but most is for pastures where animals graze.

The town is located in the Brévine valley. Until 2018, it was part of the Le Locle district.
