The La Crosse Center is a large building in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin. It was built in 1980 and is used for many different things. It's like a giant hall where you can watch sports, concerts, and other fun shows. It's also a place where big meetings and events happen.

The main area, called the arena, can hold between 5,000 and 7,500 people. This number changes depending on what kind of event is happening.

The La Crosse Center is also a place for big meetings and shows, like a convention center. Besides the main arena, it has a North Hall and a South Exhibit Hall. These halls can be used for trade shows, conventions, and banquets.

The arena is also used for exciting events like sports games, concerts, circuses, and ice shows. Many different exhibits and shows take place here throughout the year.

One special event is the yearly Bi-State Classic high school wrestling tournament. For this event, the center can fit ten full-size wrestling mats. Up to 55 wrestling teams can compete at the same time.

A cool recent change to the La Crosse Center was adding a fifty-foot skywalk. This skywalk goes over Second Street in downtown La Crosse. It connects a five-story parking garage to the east side of the convention center.

The La Crosse Center is located very close to the Mississippi River. It's less than 300 feet (about 91 meters) from the river banks and Riverside Park in Downtown La Crosse.

Teams That Played Here

The La Crosse Center has been home to several sports teams over the years. These teams played different kinds of sports, bringing lots of excitement to the arena.

The La Crosse Skating Sirens started playing their games here in 2009. They are a women's flat-track roller derby team. Roller derby is a fast-paced sport where two teams skate around a track.

The center has also hosted three indoor football teams. These were the La Crosse River Rats, the La Crosse Spartans, and the La Crosse Night Train. Indoor football is a version of American football played in an arena.

Two Continental Basketball Association (CBA) teams also played at the La Crosse Center. These were the La Crosse Catbirds and the La Crosse Bobcats. Basketball fans enjoyed watching these teams compete.

Most recently, the La Crosse Showtime of the American Basketball Association played here. They started their 2018-19 season at the center. However, they had to move from the building before playing any games in 2019.
