How La Ligua is Governed

La Ligua is a commune, which is a local government area in Chile. It is managed by a group called the communal council. The leader of the commune is a mayor, who is chosen by the people every four years. From 2008 to 2012, Rodrigo Sánchez Villalobos was the mayor.

La Ligua is also part of a larger area for elections. It belongs to the 10th electoral district and the 5th senatorial area in Chile. This helps decide who represents the people in the government.
