La Rambla is a small city located in the province of Córdoba, in the country of Spain. It's a place with a rich history and a very interesting climate. About 7,500 people live here.

Climate in La Rambla

La Rambla has a special kind of weather called a hot summer Mediterranean climate. This means it has very hot and dry summers, but mild and wet winters.

Summer Heat

Because La Rambla is in the Guadalquivir valley, its summers are some of the hottest in Europe. The average highest temperature in summer is usually above 37 degrees Celsius (98.6°F). Even though days are super hot, the nights can be a bit cooler.

Temperature Records

La Rambla has seen some extreme temperatures. The coldest temperature ever recorded was -6.4 degrees Celsius (20.5°F) in February 2012. On August 14, 2021, La Rambla set a new record for Spain. It reached an amazing 47.6 degrees Celsius (117.7°F)! This was the highest temperature ever recorded in Continental Europe during the 21st century.

  • Alfonso Cabello: Born in La Rambla in 1993, Alfonso is a talented paralympic cyclist. He has competed in many important races.
  • Alejandro Lerroux: Born in 1864, Alejandro Lerroux was an important Spanish politician. He led the Radical Republican Party during a time called the Second Spanish Republic. He passed away in 1949.
