Lab Rats, also known as Lab Rats: Bionic Island in its fourth season, was a fun American comedy TV show. It was created by Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore. The series aired on Disney XD from February 27, 2012, to February 3, 2016. The main stars were Billy Unger, Spencer Boldman, Kelli Berglund, Tyrel Jackson Williams, and Hal Sparks.

Story of Lab Rats
The show is about a young teenager named Leo Dooley. His life changes when his mom, Tasha, marries a rich inventor named Donald Davenport. Leo and his mom move into Davenport's amazing house.
While exploring his new home, Leo finds a secret lab in the basement. There, he discovers three teenage siblings with special bionic superpowers. These bionic teens try to live a normal life. They also go on many exciting adventures in their fictional town, Mission Creek, California.
New Characters and Bionic Academy
As the show goes on, more characters join the story. These include Davenport's younger brother, Douglas, and Douglas's android son, Marcus. Other important characters are Krane and his bionic soldiers, Taylor and Sebastian. There's also a scientist named Giselle and her android, Troy West.
In the third season, Davenport opens a special bionic academy. This academy is on a bionic island. Its goal is to train Krane's soldiers to become new bionic heroes for the world.

How Lab Rats Was Made
The idea for Lab Rats started on May 10, 2010. Disney XD decided to make a pilot episode. A pilot is a test episode to see if a show will be good. The pilot was first called Billion Dollar Freshmen. Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore created the show. They were also executive producers, along with Mark Brazill.
The pilot episode was filmed in the summer of 2010. On July 13, 2011, Disney XD officially ordered the full series. Production started in September 2011 in Hollywood. The show was ready to premiere in 2012. The main actors chosen were Tyrel Jackson Williams as Leo, Billy Unger as Chase, Spencer Boldman as Adam, Kelli Berglund as Bree, and Hal Sparks as Davenport.
Seasons and Final Episode
The show was very popular. Disney XD renewed it for a second season on May 18, 2012. A third season was ordered on July 26, 2013. Then, on May 9, 2014, a fourth season was announced.
On June 25, 2015, actress Kelli Berglund shared some news. She said in an interview that the fourth season would be the last one.
Where Lab Rats Aired
The series first showed on Disney XD in the United States on February 27, 2012. It also aired on Disney Channel on March 2, 2012.
In Canada, it first aired on Disney XD on February 24, 2012. Later, it moved to Disney Channel in Canada. This happened because DHX Media lost the rights to Disney shows.
The show also premiered in other countries. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, it had a preview on March 29, 2012. It officially started there on April 19, 2012. In South Africa, it began on Disney XD on June 10, 2012. In Australia and New Zealand, it first aired on Disney Channel on December 31, 2012. It officially premiered there on January 10, 2013.

Lab Rats: Elite Force Spinoff
On September 3, 2015, exciting news came out. Lab Rats would have a new show that continued its story. This new show was a spinoff series. It combined characters from Lab Rats and another Disney XD show called Mighty Med. The new show was named Lab Rats: Elite Force.
Only Billy Unger and Kelli Berglund from Lab Rats returned for this new series. They were joined by Bradley Steven Perry, Jake Short, and Paris Berelc from Mighty Med. Lab Rats: Elite Force premiered on Disney XD on March 2, 2016.
