Karim Zenoud (born 19 April 1985), known by his stage name Lacrim, is a French rapper. He is of Algerian descent.
Early Life
Karim Zenoud was born in the 20th area of Paris, France. His parents were immigrants from Algeria. Both of his parents are Kabyle, an ethnic group from North Africa. His father's family is from Sidi Daoud and his mother's from Béjaïa. He is also the grandson of actress Ouardia Hamtouche. He lived in the 13th area of Paris for his first five years. After that, his family moved to Chevilly-Larue, a town south of Paris.
Music Career
Lacrim started his music journey by working with other rappers. In May 2012, he released his first album, Faites entrer Lacrim. Later that year, in December 2012, he released a mixtape called Toujours le même.
His next two albums were very successful. Corleone, released in 2014, reached the top spot on the French Albums Chart. His 2017 album, Force & Honneur, also became number one in France. Both of these albums were certified Platinum, meaning they sold a lot of copies.
Lacrim also released a popular series of mixtapes called R.I.P.R.O. He released two parts of this series in 2015 and a third part in 2017. These mixtapes also did very well on the music charts. In 2020, he released R.I.P.R.O Vol. 4, which was also a hit. His album Lacrim came out in 2019, and Persona Non Grata was released in 2021. His latest album, Veni Vidi Vici, was released in 2024.
