Early Life and Education
Ladislao first studied classics in Rijeka. After that, he went to the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. He worked hard and graduated from the academy. He earned a special qualification to teach drawing.
Career and Art
After finishing his studies, Ladislao De Gauss went back to Rijeka. He lived and worked there as an artist. In 1928, he helped start a group of avant-garde painters in the city. These artists wanted to create new and modern art.
In 1945, Ladislao moved to Trieste, a city in Italy. He continued to live and work there. He passed away in Trieste when he was 69 years old.

Today, you can find some of Ladislao De Gauss's artworks in museums. The Revoltella Museum in Trieste, Italy, has some of his pieces. The National Gallery of Art in Rijeka, Croatia, also displays his work.
