The Lady Evelyn River is a beautiful river in Ontario, Canada. It flows through the Nipissing, Sudbury, and Timiskaming areas. This river was named after Evelyn Byng, Viscountess Byng of Vimy. She was an important person in Canada's history, serving as the wife of a former Governor General.

About the Lady Evelyn River

The Lady Evelyn River starts when two smaller rivers, the North Lady Evelyn River and the South Lady Evelyn River, join together. From there, it flows until it reaches the Montreal River. Most of the river is located within the Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park.

Where the River Flows

Most of the Lady Evelyn River is in the Timiskaming District. However, a small part of its South Branch extends into the northeastern Sudbury District. Also, the very southern tip of Lady Evelyn Lake is found in the northwestern Nipissing District.

Amazing Waterfalls

Along the Lady Evelyn River, you can find many stunning waterfalls. One of these is Frank's Falls. The most impressive and tallest waterfall is Helen Falls. Here, the water tumbles down from a height of more than 25 meters (about 82 feet). It's a truly spectacular sight!
